Welcome to Pemi West for Adults

We invite you to join us in the Olympic National Park this summer as we explore the spectacular beauty of the Pacific coastline and mountains.

We offer the following program opportunities:

• Travel the trails with an intimate group of eight adults and two instructors.
• Enjoy delicious meals prepared for you.
  
• Learn basic camping and backpacking skills, from camp stoves to navigating with map and compass.
  
• Explore the natural beauty of all manner of wildflowers and wildlife around you and participate in lively discussions about natural history with instructors who have lived in these mountains.
  

Program Options :

Pemi West for Adults is available upon request. This trip would offer you either the experience of a ten day backpacking trip exploring one of the most beautiful trails or a smorgasbord sampler of the ocean, rain forest, and mountain hikes as described below. On this latter adventure, we will combine day trips from the Ocean View Resort with two night camping trips for a rejuvenating vacation.

Trip Itinerary:

Day 1 - Arrive at the Ocean View Resort, La Push, WA to the welcome of waves and sea otters

Day 2 - Hike to Strawberry Point

Day 3 - Day hike to explore Toleak Point

Day 4 - Journey back to Ocean View Resort

Day 5 - Discover the wildlife of a temperate rain forest near the Hoh River

Day 6 - Enjoy one of the most gorgeous, moss-filled trails on your return to the Ocean View Resort

Day 7 - Explore Grand Valley on the east side of the mountains

Day 8 - Journey to the lakes of upper Grand Valley with an option to climb Grand Peak

Day 9 - Hike out along a trail with stunning vistas

Day 10 - Fly home with memories in hand

Our potential trip route is an exciting one and may change with weather conditions and the collective input from the participants. This itinerary will allow for at least a couple of days in which we would strive to give choices as to what kind of day you would like to create for yourself. For example, you could choose to challenge yourself with a guided hike up a nearby peak, or perhaps the happiness of a wildflower stroll, or even the solitude of a relaxing day by a creek with journal and binoculars in hand. These are the type of wonderful days we hope to share with you.

The cost is $1400 dollars, not including airfare, and space is limited to the first eight adults who sign up (with a minium of four participants). Invite your friends to come along. We look forward to hearing from you and hope to include you on our trip.

Pemi West complies with the National Park nondiscrimination requirements, and carries out its activities in the Olympic National Park under a Special Use Permit granted Camp Pemigewassett by the National Park Service.
