and Director Tim Billo
Tim Billo has been associated with Pemi and Pemi West
for the past two decades. He attended Camp Pemigewassett in 1990 and
1991, and returned as a staff member for three years, both as a Trip
Counselor and as Assistant Director of Pemi's nationally-known Nature
Program. This will be his eighth year on the Pemi West staff, and his
seventh as Director.
Tim attended Williams College and graduated in 1997 with a major in
Biology, and a concentration in English. While at Williams, he was a
member of the national champion cross country team. He was Captain in
1996 and a four-time All-American.
Tim has also taught in outdoor science programs in California and Washington,
worked as a ski instructor in Colorado, a park ranger in Glacier Bay,
Alaska, and as a bird biologist in Oregon. He is an active backpacker,
naturalist, and mountaineer, and holds Wilderness First Responder certification.
He is currently attending the University of Washington, working on his
Ph.D. in Biology (ornithology).
