Every August at the conclusion of the regular season, dozens of staff members and alumni join together in the annual 75-mile Rittner Run, an event dedicated to the memory of legendary Pemi camper and counselor Fred Rittner. Runners (and cyclists) participate in a relay-style crossing of the state of New Hampshire, from Fryeburg, Maine, to Wentworth, in this powerful tribute to one of our favorites who passed away in his prime. Please make plans to join us, and many of your old Pemi friends, for the upcoming Rittner Run.
Every five years, Pemi alumni and their families are invited to enjoy a long weekend of nostalgic activities at their Lower Baker alma mater. Our recent centennial celebration (August, 2007) drew over five hundred Pemi alums, family members, and friends for such activities as baseball, tennis, croquet, day hikes, water sports, vaudeville, campfire, and Bean Soup. The intermingling of generations at such occasions reinforces the scope and breadth of the extended Pemi family and evokes powerful memories of summers past. Many a toddler has enjoyed his/her first camping experience at our Reunions.
Every winter, Camp families serve as hosts for Pemi's Open Houses. These gatherings serve to bring alums, current families, staff, and prospective families together to share conversation, laughter, and perspectives. Please see Visit: Open Houses for the 2009-2010 Pemi Open House schedule.
