The day-to-day interactions within the cabin are an essential element of a Pemi summer. Boys live in a rustic but comfortable setting with 5-9 peers and two counselors. This affords an outstanding opportunity for boys to encounter the challenges and acquire the skills that group living entails. Mundane tasks such as sweeping the cabin and tidying one's area become important "team activities" for boys wishing to win our Inspection competition. The close proximity and inter-dependence allow the boys to relate to each other in demanding but productive ways that develop camaraderie, trust, loyalty, and friendships, many of which last a lifetime. It is also incredibly fun to live with peers of similar interests and goals!
